Heart of Courage: Self Care Celebration 2025

Imperfect Yet Do What U Can had the pleasure of attending the 2025 Self Care Celebration on May 4th, 2025, hosted by Heart of Courage. This event was filled with community, fun, and people with purpose.
Imperfect Yet Do What U Can was one of three organizations honored during the event. Imperfect Yet Do What U Can received the Giving Heart award. The other organizations also recognized for their work in the community are Project Beauty and ilooklikeLOVE.
Project Beauty is based in the Dallas area and is led by Jo Lam, a fearless and inspiring woman whose story is nothing short of remarkable. Project Beauty's message is about empowerment for those in difficult circumstances. Jo's testimonial at the event was a beautiful moment where we got to know and understand the importance of her organization's mission. We look forward to working with this organization. ilooklikeLOVE is also a Dallas-based organization. Led by the wonderful Phillipa Williams, this organization is strong in the values of a solid foundation for the single mother. We met Ms. Williams as well at the self-care event, and she shared a powerful and impactful story of purpose. This organization provides necessities for mothers that include diapers, wipes, toys, and formula provided through an amazing mobile service. There is also the life-changing EmpowerU offered to mothers seeking financial knowledge and stability in order to create a path to a brighter future. Heart of Courage is near and dear to our us as an organization, as they are one of the earlier grant recipients we had the pleasure of working with. To highlight, the organization is led by Dania Carter, founder and lead counselor of Heart of Courage. This organization supports single mothers who are going through various life situations. Heart of Courage provides reassurance and support to mothers with the intention to aid them and equipt them through their hard times through various programs like court advocacy, family advocacy, individual and group counseling, and Courage2change.
Imperfect Yet Do What U Can is immensely grateful for the recognition from Heart of Courage and so honored to have met the founders of Project Beauty and ilooklikeLOVE.
